Godwin Obaseki, the newly re-elected governor of Edo state has paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike.
Wike was the Chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council for Edo state. He was highly instrumental in the victory of Obaseki during the recently concluded governorship election in the state.
Godwin Obaseki was accompanied by his deputy Philip Shaibu and some other members of his cabinet.
In the elections, Obaseki contesting on the platform of the PDP recorded a total of 307,955 votes to defeat Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the APC who recorded 223,619 votes.
During his visit, Obaseki expressed his appreciation to Wike for his support throughout the electioneering campaign. He described Wike as a true brother.
Governor Obaseki wrote the following on his official Facebook account.
“I was with my brother and Governor of Rivers State, H. E. Nyesom Wike, to express appreciation for his support before, during and after the Edo governorship election. As the chair of the N’tnl campaign council, he applied himself diligently to task. Indeed, he is a true brother.”
