Joshua was at the Afrikan Shrine last year in June, after losing to Ruiz Jr. He met with Femi Kuti, the first son of the legendary musician, Fela Ransome Kuti. He had promised Femi that when he wins back his belts, he would bring them back to him at the Shrine.

On December 7 last year, AJ outboxed Ruiz Jr in a display of boxing masterclass over 12 rounds to reclaim his belts and he has now fulfilled his promise. Joshua was at the Afrikan Shrine where he presented all 4 belts to an elated Femi Kuti to the admiration of the crowd who had gathered to witness the historic occasion.
